European roulette origin
Roulette as a card game has a very interesting history. It was built in 17th century by Blaise Pascal, famous mathematician, which was fascinated by devices of perpetual motion. He wanted to prove one of his theories that objects in motion stay in motion and created the roulette wheel. Pascal failed to prove it, as the wheel was constantly stopping. This was the creation of the famous roulette game.
It is common knowledge that there are two game types known as European roulette wheel and American roulette wheel.
European roulette was originated in France and the word "roulette" means "small wheel" in the French language. This was a small wheel with the numbered slots. It can be called differently as Single zero roulette or French roulette.
At the beginning, European roulette has only 36 numbers with no zero number. The game became so popular that casinos at that time wanted to get high profits from this game, but they were unlucky. People tend to win money quite easily. So it was decided to add one more number and it was zero. This change made casinos more profitable as the casino house edge rose considerably.
Nevertheless, European roulette didn't lose its funs and continued to gain popularity around the world.
Live European roulette wheel
With the fast growing internet development, all casino games can be played in online and live online casino. These games have the same rules but provide players with added comfort and relaxed way of gaming.
As it was already mentioned, roulette has 2 kinds and they both can be played in live online casinos. The main difference of the American and European roulette is the number of zeros (2 and 1 respectively).
The payouts are no different in American and European roulette, but the odds of guessing the number is better in European roulette (1:37) as there are only 37 pockets in the wheel.
Many European roulette tables allow players to place bets on so called bet groups or "neighbors". There are several of such combinations:
- Grand Voisins du zero: 22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35,3, 26, 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, 25;
